Occupational Health and Safety Policy

Agrisolutions Hamilton is committed to the prevention of occupational illness and injury in the workplace.

Our management team will provide the leadership and the resources necessary to implement and support a robust occupational health and safety program at our Hamilton site.  We will comply with legislative requirements under the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) of Ontario and applicable Regulations.  We will strive for continual improvement to meet our yearly operational objectives, including zero lost time incidents.

Our workplace activities must consider health and safety implications for the well-being of all our employees, contractors, and visitors.  Therefore, all managers and supervisors are responsible to ensure that safe and healthy work conditions are maintained in his or her assigned areas.

Our employees also have a responsibility to protect his or her own health and safety by working in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OSHA) and by following Agrisolutions’ safe work practices and procedures.  This requirement extends to all our contractors working on our site.

Every employee is encouraged to report any hazard or unsafe practice to their immediate Supervisor who shall address the concern as soon as possible.

Employees are also encouraged to report any health and safety concerns to the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC). Our JHSC helps promote a strong internal responsibility system by completing workplace inspections, reviewing incidents, and identifying hazards.  They also have the power to make health and safety recommendations to Senior Management and play an important role in helping us improve our health and safety culture.

Together we will continue to work toward the prevention of occupational injury and illness in our workplace.
